Origin of Lakshmi Hayagriva
According to Hindu scriptures (especially Puranas and Vaishnava traditions):

During creation, two demons named Madhu and Kaitabha stole the Vedas from Lord Brahma.

Without the Vedas, knowledge disappeared from the universe.

Lord Vishnu then took the form of Hayagriva — a divine being with a human body and horse head.

He defeated the demons and restored the Vedas, bringing back wisdom and order to creation.
Because of this act, Hayagriva became known as the supreme source of knowledge.
When Goddess Lakshmi sits together with Hayagriva, the form is called Lakshmi Hayagriva, symbolizing:
