(or Raja Shyamala) is a prominent Tantric goddess, representing the 9th of the ten Dasha Mahavidyas, revered as the goddess of inner knowledge, arts, speech, and music. As a manifestation of “Jnana Shakthi” (knowledge) for Goddess Lalithambika, she is often considered the Tantric form of Saraswati. She is worshipped to gain mastery over arts, improve communication, and attract success.
- Attributes & Appearance: She is typically depicted with a dark emerald or green complexion, three eyes, and a crescent moon on her forehead. She is often shown holding a Veena (musical instrument), accompanied by parrots, and seated on a throne.
- Symbolism: She embodies the power of manifestation, taking thoughts and ideas into reality, and is a symbol of love and affection.
- Worship & Benefits: Known as Raja Shyamala in Srividya tradition, her worship is believed to bestow eloquence, wisdom, wealth, and success in the arts.
- Associations: She is closely linked to the Sapta Matrikas and, in more esoteric, intense forms, she is known as Ucchishta Matangini or Ucchishta Chandali, often worshipped for removing obstacles and gaining control.
